Work diary (shoot 4)

This photograph was taken at the beginning of my project when I went to New York. This photograph is showing the man made buildings and transport in a landscape. This is also showing the element of depth as the road slowly converges inwards. The editing process of this photograph was adjusting the curves and levels and then converting the whole photograph to black and white. By converting the whole photograph to black and white allowed the different tones to be shown better and enhances the hectic atmosphere. This shoot is very different to the other shoots I have already done this is because it is showing the aspect of scale of man made objects in a landscape. I feel that this photograph is very captivating and shows the idea of a main focus and depth. This is because the trainers that are hanging on the traffic light are edited to be silhouette to stand out and direct the eyes of the audience to the depth of the landscape.
This photograph shows a man made landscape which shows the element of depth in a landscape from a very different angle. The angle is very low from the right hand side of this street. The idea of using depth in this photograph enhances the aspect of scale in this photograph and makes the still movement of the cars look very fast as part of them are blurred. The bright lights were enhanced by the adjustments of curves and levels as well as adjusting the saturation. This made this photograph very captivating to look at and very appealing. The bright yellow taxi's and the depth of buildings create a very busy atmosphere which makes this photograph very interesting to look at. This shoot was very successful however this shoot has also shown me that my strentgh is shown better in natural landscapes therefore this is something that I will capture in my exam.

This shoot was inspired by the idea of photographing man made as several shoots before this was the aspect of scale in a natural landscape. I feel that by photographing a man made landscape shows my versatility in landscape photography and gives me several options for my exam at the end of these shoots. This shoot was also inspired by the element of depth that I had shown to be very successful at in  my previous shoot at Netswell pond. Therefore I will continue with the idea of depth in a landscape in shoots to come to build my skills up for my exam.
