Work diary (shoot3)

This photograph was taken as part of my project aspects of landscapes and was taken behind a row of plants to show the landscape behind them hidden. I especially like the contrast in colours as one side has been converted to black and white where as the other side is very vibrant and bright. The reason I chose to do this was because it gave a contrast between wilted and alive plants. The iconic part of this photograph I feel is the sky the deep blue colour is very eye catching and draws my eyes directly towards it immediately. The aspect of landscape that this photograph is showing is the aspect of scale and this is shown through the wide scale of this photograph. To edit this photograph I adjusted the curves, levels and saturation to exaggerate and enhance the brightness on the right hand side to create a summery feel to the photograph.

This photograph was also taken for my project aspect of landscape and was taken to show the aspect of scale in a landscape. The idea behind this photograph was to create a depth in the scale to make this photograph stand out and look very creative. The depth in this photograph enhances the scale of the landscape and makes the photograph more appealing to look at. The editing process of this photograph was very simple as all I did was adjust the curves and levels and enhanced the saturation. These adjustments allowed the photograph to look very bold and they brought out the deep tones in the wood and in the water. I especially like how the trees in the landscape reflect into the water and spirally inwards as the water was moving. This makes this photograph look stunning and Im very happy with this photograph is I captured it at the right time to produce this reflection. This shoot was captured on a very sunny day which made everything look better and brighter in the photographs.

If I would go back and add more ideas to this shoot I would of photographed more depth photographs as this is shown to have worked very well especially in the photograph above. I would also like to show depth in a landscape with an main focus being very large at the front of the camera for example a flower.

This shoot was inspired by the previous two shoots that I had captured this is because the two previous shoots were inspired by the photographer 'Fay Godwin' and showed the similarities and ideas I gained from her in my photographs. Furthermore from both shoots I especially liked the idea of depth which was developed from Fay Godwin's photographs therefore I decided to base most of this shoot on the element of depth to see how strong the photographs would be. The outcome of this shoot was very successful and this has narrowed the idea of scale in a landscape to the aspect of scale using depth to portray this. Therefore my next shoot will show the idea of depth in a landscape to experiment more with the idea and to develop my camera positioning for this idea to practise for my exam.
